What you should know about Pain & Pain Medications


  1. It is a well known medical plant for more than 5,000 years

  2. It has been used by many countries including Canada & USA

  3. Marijuana plant has many components called Cannabinoids

  4. Some of these components are medical and others are not

  5. It has been legalized in many states including Florida

  6. Marijuana has not been approved by the by the Federal Government except for 2 forms of Epilepsy in children

  7. The State of Florida has legalized some marijuana products: Low-THC/CBD| CBD | Medical Cannabis (It comes in various forms: Extract; Capsules; Vaper; Skin Application; Nasal Spray)

  8. The Patient must have a qualified medical condition

  9. The patient must be qualified by a doctor that has been certified for prescribing medicinal marijuana by the office of medical marijuana use

  10. The patient must be a resident of the State of Florida and to have the following: a) Drivers License or Florida ID; b) SSN, Telephone number; Home address

  11. Once the patient is qualified the patient has to register and pay to the department of Health $75.00, Photo, 2x2, to obtain an ID card

  12. Only the doctor that qualify the patient can prescribe medicinal marijuana

  13. Once the prescription is written it must be taken to marijuana dispensery that has been approved by the State of Florida

  14. Medical Marijuana can not be mixed with alcohol or any tranquilizer

  15. Medical Marijuana should not be abused

  16. Patient has to sign a consent form with the doctor

  • Chronic non malignant pain

  • 2 forms of children Epilepsy

  • ALS

  • Neuropathic Pain
